EBS Global opens its Barrie plant

Event film from the March 20, 2025 opening, EBS Global.

On March 20, 2025, EBS Global opened its cold-formed steel facility at 220 John Street in Barrie, Ontario. Ontario Cabinet Ministers Michael Tibollo and Andrea Khanjin, Barrie Mayor Alex Nuttall, and MPs John Brassard and Doug Shipley attended the ribbon-cutting, along with architects, contractors and other industry professionals.

The plant puts engineering and manufacturing in one building, from the first drawing to the finished panel. Cold-formed steel is light, strong, non-combustible, dimensionally stable and recyclable. With panels made ahead of time, a 2,000 square foot home can be framed in a matter of days. More of the work happens in the shop, so less material is wasted, and panels arrive on site ready to set. The opening also brings skilled manufacturing jobs to Barrie.

Rolled in-house in Barrie

Cold-formed steel profiles are formed on our own line, then engineered into panels, frames and roofs. Every member is dimensioned and cut for its place in the assembly, which keeps profiles consistent and the frame square. We design and manufacture to CSA S136-20 for cold-formed steel and to the National Building Code of Canada 2020.
